I started writing this poem after going to the RIS 2013 (reviving the islamic spirit) convention in Toronto. The person that inspired me to write it is no other but Tariq Ramadan (official) and i cant thank him enough for really showing me the true world that we live in these days. So here it is : The silence ends here Pray my brothers For a world of peace and loving A world that is currupted with power And the only thing in our mind is honor Pray my sisters For a world with no war and blood spilling But that cant happen my brothers and sisters in silence We need to step up and act togheter to change this world A world that over the years is bringing only fear and sadness And where there is no life for a little boy or girl unheard I am enraged my fellow people Why? Because we have lost hope Cant belive we let new born babies in syria die Or let a bosnian orphan starve... Why? Why are we letting these things pass by When we can stop making people cry? People that fear to get home People that have no flesh, Just bone Some of us say im not into politics But would you like to see people crumble in tears in their beloved ones blood? Caused by unbelievable tragedies that make my eyes tear like a flood And all u hear are the critics Steping in front of the majority Demands a lot of effort but the result is cherished; Loved by the people that only demand health and safety That see their hope crumble day by day until it has vanished These communities seek the help from people like you and me And what do we give them: a completly silence as if their was no one on earth, only the noise of the sea Silence makes things uninteresting And what is uninteresting is unimportant If peoples lives are so important, Why are we still standing and talking when are supposed to be yelling and protesting? To be courageous is to be a voice for the voiceless So lets reunite togheter to avoid making these peoples lives pointless
