I stayed awake until I mustve fallen asleep feeling as though I was somehow able to be connected to the hostages and how harrowing their day mustve been. I woke to the news that a simple morning coffee cost two people their life and a police officer has been shot in the face. Not once did I think that Muslims Im my community should feel scared to move freely throughout their day fearing others hold them responsible for such an act; rather than this one man with deplorable ideals and a heinous behaviour. So I say #illridewithyou To those lives who were caught up in this unprecedented incident in Lindt cafe, Martin place I share my condolences. I hope that we can galvanise our society so that this doesnt change the fabric of what should be a joyous time of year in more innocent peoples minds ever again. I feel so useless and sad.
