I stayed the weekend with Geoff and Fi in Bari Sardo, 15 minutes down the coast from Arbatax. There I was able to sleep as much as I wanted, which was a lot, explore the town, do my washing and take delicious showers and curl up with a book. I am reading Gypsy Moth Circles the World for probably the fifth time, a really enjoyable book. The apartment in an old three story house sits above a bakery, so it was tempting to go downstairs and buy pizza, potato cakes, panini and ciabata fresh from the wood fired ovens. At the top of the house the flat roof is surrounded by a high wall and provides a safe area for drying the washing and sun bathing. With views across the pantiles to a sea of other buildings and then across to the mountains beyond, Geoff and Fi have a really nice place, that provided me with space to chill and recharge my batteries!
