I still dont understand the parents who are still attacking the school system and superintendent in Sayreville for cancelling the football season. They are claiming this is unfair to those who havent committed a crime. I believe we put too much emphasis on individual achievement and not enough emphasis on teamwork. If one person on the team screws up badly enough, the whole team fails. In this case, seven members of the team went way beyond what would be ethically, socially, morally, and legally acceptable. If we are going to put the responsibility of a complete education on our school systems and have sports programs that are paid for partially or in full by public taxes, crimes like these should never be allowed to happen by teachers, coaches, school personnel, any member of the student body, or parents.
