I still havent moved on to the new generation of consoles. I really wish I had the time and money to invest running my own gaming PC. Its not so much that I cant just save the money and get one but if I do then I know I will have to invest a lot more time into it and would take it very seriously almost like how I take care of my car or clean the house. With a kid on the way I just dont think I should complicate matters even more. That saidIm still playing my Xbox 360 and I found this on XBLA in the indie section. Trick Tale games did a great god damn job and I hope it did well enough for them even though I havent been able to find them through Google search. I would love to see what else they have to offer so if anyone knows please comment below and let me know! Its just as hard as it looks and yes its very rewarding to move on through each level. Memorization, as is common for schmups, is key to beating every stage and start going for high scores on the leader boards which I doubt Ill ever get on. I love schmups, however, they dont love me. I always end up getting my ass kicked with these kinds of games but can sit for an hour trying to beat the same stage over and over again while the game just sits there handing my ass to me every time I try. To me, that is the appeal of retro style games, the challenge, the risk vs reward game play, and its always refreshing to me to see a modern take on the retro 2D style. I also enjoy the creepy music in the menu sections and the in game music isnt half bad either. I would have prefered some really dark death or doom metal playing along with the game but who am I to complain. The orchestral piece that was composed for this game is awesome! Id say this game is well worth it if you are in to these sorts of games. I like to encourage people to look to the past for what I feel is the superior gaming experience. I like games like Grand Theft Auto, Skyrim, Halo, Gears of War, and many others as well. But theres nothing like an old school experience to me.
