I still remember Zambia was declared Christian Nation by D FTJ. Chiluba some decades ago and everyone said Amen!. Before our country was declared Christian Nation, Dr K. Kaunda had already pronounced Zambia One Zambia One Nation. If I am not mistaken, both declarations werent meant to manipulate anybody but to stimulate peace and tranquility and to break the bond or chains of tribalism, racism and regionalism. But many people today still live in the past like before Zambia was declared One Zambia One Nation or Chritian Nation. I have so far heard unpleasant statements about tribalism and regionalism from intellectuals, and more so, irritating remarks about racism even from the so called men God. I have intentionally categorised the so called men of God and intellectuals so as to disclose how lost people are even in this era. One would wonder which God we believe in and worship or what kind of education we have acquired that teaches tribalism, racism and regionalism. I believe one zambia one nation means no one should be discriminated, offered a job, elected to office basing on tribe, region, colour and religion. More so, christian nation means everyone is at liberty to worship and to do the right thing regardless of race/colour, tribe and region. We are yet again to start voting few days from now. But who shall vote for somebody/some people/party basing on merit and wisdom? If you are still considering tribal lines, colour and region then I am not ashamed or afraid to say you are lost. I believe in One Zambia One Nation. If we stand together we shall see us and our nation rise, but should we be selfish, we shall see only few individual living well. Mark 3:25 “And if a house will be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.”
