I still remember how I felt that day... I remember the emotion of fear, anger, hate, and love all wrapped into one. I was in college, always watched the news in the morning, and saw this tragic and horrific event go down... I attended classes that day and eventually made my way to the Sun Devil Marching Band Practice Field. I remember the eerie silence of not hearing the sound of a single air plane approaching or leaving Sky Harbor. I remember the tears and pain for those who lost someone they loved. More importantly I remember how we as a country for a short time became united. It was okay to pray in public again. It didnt matter who your god was, or what religion you followed. We joined hands as brothers and sisters pleading for answers, and comfort. I will NEVER forget that day and how I felt. I also remember 1 week later when the planes started to fly... I remember playing God Bless the USA in front of an entire stadium, when most would typically be off to use the restroom or get food, but they didnt. For that moment, I felt a release of emotion by the tens of thousands of people... United... With tears in their eyes... My prayer is that we wake up and remember these things... Not just just on this day, but every day. That we teach our children that freedom is precious and it can be taken away in as little as a single generation if these lessons are not remembered. May God bless our Country and her people. #neverforget
