I still think he is the best thing on late night. ( Ferg is a close second. Love his robot sidekick, Geoffry!). I grew up with Carson and, as much as I loved him, he was getting pretty stale by the time Letterman came along. Dave, in those early days on NBC was fresh, daring and a great interviewer and was within reach of us East coasters! Common things we do now were first done by Dave (like Carson before him) and he is still consecutively wonderful. I will miss him dearly! The only thing worse for me is if Howard Stern retires. I will be officially old fart screaming when that happens!
