I stole these photos from Suzy Anderson -- beautiful ride yesterday with beautiful, supportive people! Bear did really, really well overall. He wanted to be out in front for quite a bit of the ride. He was brave and confident. We did have some issues on the way back -- which is actually fairly unusual for Bear (he doesnt normally have the hurry up and get home syndrome.). By the time we got down near the trailers he threw a temper tantrum which tends to unnerve me. With the help of my friends (who stopped and waited for me to figure out what I was going to try to get Bear in a better frame of mind), I was at least able to get him to relax a tiny bit and I took the opportunity to dismount then. I still have a long way to go to really addressing his teenager-like fits of I dont want to! with finesse, but every time I am able to push myself a tiny bit more, I make a little progress in the right direction. Thanks to Suzy, Marie, Candy, Jeane and Sam for being there for me and Bear!!!
