I stood on the beaches at Normandy, walked the back fields of seldom seen grave stones in small towns throughout the countryside, and crossed the Ouistreham bridge. The next few weeks will be special for me as I am sure for many my age as Memorial Day and the 70th anniversary of the greatest invasion force the world has ever seen mark our calendars. This weekend I will get a chance to travel to Minneapolis and the Veterans Cemetery to put a marker on Moms grave, cuss at her a little for leaving too soon, and give a salute to Dave, (US Navy) with the same amount of cussing for the same reason. I will spend a moment walking the park Lady Thundar and I trained in and remember so many good times her and I shared. All played major roles in my life, loved me unquestionable and are thought about each day. ABN’s FB site is a great place to share a thought, who will you remember this Memorial Day? Share.
