I stop for gas and before Im outta the car, a former coworker comes up to me, tells me how wonderfully he is doing in his job...regales me with stories of his successes at work,& before I can even start my gas pump, hes yammering about my getting out of the sunlight so I can see his pictures. He shoves his cell phone in my face and proceeds to show photos of his vacation, his house, his grand kids, his horses, himself and yes, his chickens! I havent said anything because frankly, I cant! Finally, I jump in my car and leave. Moments later, I find myself going 60 mph just to get away! It occurred to me that he never once, asked about me, my job, or my life, which just goes to show ya, egos are what usually get in the way of relationships. I got home feeling like Id been accosted! He exhausted me in five minutes flat!
