I stopped by a sawmill operation last week to drop off half of a flitch of flat-sawn lumber that needed to be placed into the kiln for a few days. Before unloading these highly interesting slabs, I noticed a couple of Amish or Mennonite men that were browsing dimensional inventory at the mill. Halfway through unloading my slabs, I noticed one of the gentlemen approaching me from a good distance with a wide smile. From 20 yards or so, hed honed in on the unique character and qualities of the lumber I was unloading. He looked at me and simply stated, That is some SASSY lumber!! I got a chuckle out of his comment and took it as a knowledgeable compliment. Cant wait to work with and share photographs with you all of what I create with this, sassy, stuff!
