I strongly believe in proactive Judaism... If they arent coming inside Jewish institutions we need to go out there and bring Judaism to them... Putting Tefillin on the first time is a beautiful way to celebrate becoming Bar Mitzvah - becoming of age responsible to make the world a better place with Torah and Mitzvot. There are tens of thousands of people the world over who have enjoyed a renewed appreciation and interest for Judaism because of a single encounter on a street corner, office building, the mall, outdoor festival, Menorah lighting, etc. Next month is the Lubavitcher Rebbes 20th yahrtziet. He campaigned strongly that we dont give up on our fellow Jews that are not an active part of the Jewish community, each of us can have a positive impact on another individual..
