I strongly disagree with President Obama affording Big Oil the chance to exploit resources along our eastern seaboard. But it is no accident this happened precisely as wind and solar energy become competitive. BIG Oil, BIG Coal and BIG Nuclear have lobbied for years to maintain their grip on energy production and costs and, thereby profit at the publics expense. Their hands in our wallets also fuel increases in the costs of everything else. More solar energy falls on just the southern exposures in America each day than we generate through an outdated energy grid. There are many, many places in America where wind energy is perpetual. Even tidal and water energy can be redirected to produce electrical and mechanical energy. Right now. Americans pay to fuel the generation of twice the energy we actually consume, just to be prepared for demand peaks and resource sharing during outages and emergencies. Thats right, we waste half of what we generate - and then we end up wasting half of what we actually use by not insulating or turning off lights or otherwise conserving energy as we go about our bright existence. In fact we are so bright you can even see it from space. And we, the public, pay for it all - because we have no choice - with things like they are right now... which brings me to my point. If the American public can use free energy to live without fuel barons sucking our lifes blood through fuel costs we deserve that chance. We would be wise to wake up and then shake up their world. If we really prefer to plug our car or truck into a solar charging port while we spend our day soaking up sun and wind spills ----》in water not tainted by coal ash mercury 《---- then that - and nothing else - should be OUR choice not theirs - OR their rich friends in high places! Take my word for it. Cleaning up behind oil, gas, coal and uranium is not nearly as much fun. This is real, my friends. Energize! Organize! Then Mobilize! Find one or two other progressive friends and pledge to go together to vote early and to take election day off to find and assist other progressive voters. If we each do a little we can all do a lot. November can be a revolutionary month in American history. Blessed be the ties that bind.
