I strongly feel that we are in a time when it is extremely important to be led by God, in the big things and in the seemingly little things. I see this truth more and more each day. When Breanne was a teenager, as I prayed for her, I knew one thing would be vitally important in her life. I knew that she would need to know God and be led by God. I prayed for that to become a part of her life many times over the years. Breanne for the most part, most of her life, has depended on me to be led by God and know when danger was coming or when we needed to pray before moving ahead. It has simply been my part. However, this past weekend that changed and I couldnt have been more proud. Breanne found herself in a really bad situation but God has warned her ahead of time. Let me explain. Breanne and Brandon were going out to eat, the kids were with me. On the way Breanne said she had an icky feeling that she couldnt shake. She said she prayed in the spirit all the way there, until she had peace. On the way back home, a car in front of them hit another car. When this happened, Brandon immediately started to jump out of his vehicle to go and help. Breanne said for some reason she knew something was wrong and she grabbed the back of his jacket and pulled him back into the vehicle. This all took a matter of seconds. She said when they looked up, the car has purposely hit the other car and the two people were in the road fighting. Of course the police were called and showed up on the scene. It turned out that it had been a drug deal gone bad, really bad. It turned out to be a very violent scene in which someone could have been hurt or killed. I said to Breanne, you could have been hurt. She said No, I couldnt Mom, God warned me and I actually heard him and I prayed and I had peace the whole time. She was so amazed that she had heard God for herself and heeded his warning. Several times in her past God has warned her but she didnt stop to pray and simply forged ahead and had to deal with the consequences but not this time. This time, she sensed something was wrong, she stopped and prayed until peace came and she was protected. I was so proud of her. And it gave me a great sense of relief to know that she is now at a place that she hears and obeys quickly. I will tell you this; it makes a Mom have much more peace. Romans 8:14 says; For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. As I said earlier, I know we are in a time when we desperately need to listen for the voice of God, hear it and be quick to obey it. We can be led by the Spirit of God and he will keep us out of harms way, if we listen and obey. The problem is many people think well, thats just me, nothing is wrong. But if you are a child of God, a son of God, then he wants to lead you and guide you but he can only do that if you will listen and trust that you are hearing his voice. If I were you, I would quote that scripture over yourself and your children every single day. I would declare I am a son of God, I AM LEAD BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD every day and in all things. I would say it and say it and say it, until it became a part of me. I would say it until I knew it to be true. Then when God does speak to you, listen and obey, regardless of how ridiculous it seems. Friends, we are in a time where danger is all around us. We see drug deals on a daily basis. We see innocent people caught in the cross fire. We see shootings at schools, at malls and walking down the streets - we MUST be led by God. It is not an option. I am praying for you today that you are led by the Spirit of God daily and in all things. Please pray the same for us. God Bless! K.Potter
