I struggle with this everyday. If people dont fund the maintenance of culturally significant sites because of unresolved historical issues, how will these sites survive for the next generation? However, if we misrepresent the history for economic purposes (tourists dollars) then we disrespect the true history of our ancestors. The truth may be hidden, but it doesnt go away. We need to address and resolved these difficult historical issues and move forward.
