I stuck my hand in a wasp’s nest. Some of you might wonder “Why would she do something like that?” Answer? IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! I didn’t even know the thing was there. I was pulling on the cushion of that weight bench that had been on the side porch, since, forever. (I’m cleaning up around here and some things have to go). And then my hand was on fire. Pain was shooting up and down my fingers. I jerked my hand away from the bench. And a big black thing with wings was attached to my middle finger. I shook my hand and nothing happened. (Shaking, yelling and flailing around do not impress, frighten or deter wasps). I swiped it off with my other hand just in time to see more wasps flying right at me. I made it to the door and beat them back by repeatedly swinging the storm door. Oh, and I thought the weight bench had to go. Well the bench is gone. We have sprayed, fly swatted and even creeped up on and stomped those big black things. And some are still out there flying around.
