I stumbled across this video. If you think you had a rough day, watch a simulation of having this disease. I couldnt imagine! I met a women at work 2 days ago. She had her 82 year old mother out to shop for her birthday. She says to me...this is the most important person in my life and it is her birthday. I asked what they were looking for and started to help them. In a few minutes, the birthday women was getting very agitated; however, I wasnt sure why. We seem to be finding things she liked and was ready to try them on. I got a fitting room for them. The younger women said, I am so lucky to have her. I thought how sweet. As time went on, the younger women was working faster and faster to swap sizes or colors. Obviously, I said, I will do that for so we dived and conquered the size and color swaps. I asked if everything was ok. She said yes; however, her mom has Alzheimers, gets in patient and frustrated after too long. I watched this women who clearly adored her mother shop in our store with the utmost patience and love for her mother. I thought to myself, what an awesome daughter! As she checked out, again, mom was a little anxious and wandering. I finished ringing her out and gathered her things. As she thanked me for my patience, I said to her...you may be lucky to have her but she is equally as lucky to have you! She smiled...we are blessed to have each other. She gave me her all as I grew up. Now, its time for me to give that and more back. Yes, I got a little teary eyed as so many do not care, make the time, or have the interest to take care of their parents.
