I stumbled upon this album accidentally a few years ago and knew Brad Jones as a great producer of many great pop albums. I even visited him once in his studio in Nashville. And I knew Hans Rotenberry is from The Shazam which made one of the greatest power pop albums ever Godspeed the Shazam. So I thought it might be worth checking out but with modest expectations. Then I got it and immediately fell in love with the whole album. I even had to write to Brad. This is what I wrote: I just wanted to drop you a line touching base and let you know that your album with Hans Rotenberry – Mountain Jack – was a reeeeallly BIG favorite for me when I discovered it earlier this year. Its just frickin great! Awesome! Love it! And you should know it comes from someone who dont get kicks from new music more than once every year. You know how it is... you focus on your own songs, your own productions, the old usual suspects of favorites... at least I have become lazy in chasing new music which is quite contradictory with all the possibilities of Spotify etc. Anyway I just wanted you to let you know about my appreciation. A likely lad may be my favorite but all the songs are just great! Love your voices blending together, the impeccable guitar playing, the sounds. #favoritesongs
