I suffered through a very sad experience this morning, February 2, - TopicsExpress

I suffered through a very sad experience this morning, February 2, 2014, at church. I was rebuffed, almost shunned, by several folks who I previously had felt warm and close to. I suspect that this has to do with my feelings about our current President, and my political thoughts as expressed on FaceBook. Now I feel it necessary to make the following perfectly clear. To my knowledge I have never commented on my political affiliation or thinking in church. (As a matter of fact I am not connected to either Party or any politically active group of any persuasion.) I have expressed my unwillingness to let politics become an issue at any function of our church. I did ask that an invitation to attend a political party activity be removed from the sideboard at church as I felt it improper. I also asked that a political diatribe be dropped when it was brought up in a religious education class. About Mr. Obama: I admit that I do not like anything about this man and/or his Presidency. This has nothing to do with his Race, Color, or Creed. It is all about his competence and character. No recent President has come to the office with such a total lack of experience, skills or abilities. No other President in modern history has sealed his personal records so solidly and securely and kept them away from the citizens of this country. No modern President has failed so completely in his ability to compromise (the essence of politics) and thus work with Congress. In fact he has stated often and loudly that he would not negotiate with congress. Seems to me a sure way not to win friends or influence Congress.
