I suppose there’s a time for everything, and sadly now is the time to end MY time on Facebook. After being on here for a number of years, I have come to the conclusion that the majority of my Facebook experience has been one of heartbreak and disillusionment. Although it has been a wonderful vehicle to reaquaint myself with past friends, classmates and loved ones I must state that the enthusiasm sown was not worth the pain reaped in the end. I am gradually joining the “school” of those who, in the ‘pyschological studies” realm, are now citing the very negative overall value of social media. I, for one, am NOT going to be a victim of this, especially in light of my new-found Christian value system. I am finding it detrimental to my Christian growth, and adding fuel to fires that perhaps don’t even really exist. I think the hardest hits I took were NOT from those who disagreed with me and chose to “ignore” me. Some were more confrontational. Now, if that confrontation was based on an intellectual argument against my point of view...we are getting somewhere! On the other hand, many were downright MEAN, MOCKING, and ANTI-CHRISTIAN, but I wear THOSE confrontations as a badge of honor, especially with regard to our Lord! I digress, BUT! The HARDEST, HARDEST hits I took were from those who I KNOW to be Christian; who I KNOW to be politically conservative and who left me in the cold just about every time. ESPECIALLY when I was getting “beaten up” on here by some NASTY “non-Christian, left-wing Liberals”. With the exception of a VERY few dear friends, I was left to fight alone. It simply is not worth my while to post things that only about three people respond to. What’s the point, if only to feel disappointed and, yes!....lonely! To those of you who listened to what I had to say, thank you so very much. Whether in agreement or not, you were always respectful in your point of view. It is for YOU that I am writing this, because I certainly don’t expect that I will receive any more attention to THIS posting as I have to most other postings in the past. I’ll be on here for a few more days, because there are a number of individuals I want to contact via the Facebook Messanger thing. I want to give them a means to contact me should they wish to keep in touch in the future. To ALL of you...I pray for God’s Blessing upon EACH of your lives! As I’ve stated in the past: I am NOT, in my mind, anyone special before God; I am a sinner just like everyone else: maybe WORSE! It was NEVER my intention to be “holier than thou”! If anything, I became a devoted Christian because I have MORE sins to deal with than perhaps others! It’s the road I’ve chosen .....and I’ve NEVER been happier! Please consider it!
