I swear either I didnt notice before or the numbers are rising, but there are homeless ppl everywhere in Knoxville! Yesterday, I noticed a couple digging thru Aarons trash in the back alley and they kept looking at me on the porch like I was going to yell at them. So I said, do yall like to collect cans? And they said yes maam!!! So I went in and got the trash, two big bags that were halfway full each with cans. The only problem was there was a bunch of trash in there too. So I helped them go thru the trash. They were shocked! They said no person had ever came up to them, offered them trash, and then helped them dig thru it. And honestly I was kinda surprised by that I guess. Bc I honestly dont see the problem. Then later Knox and I saw a man with only one leg in a very cheap, rusted wheelchair digging in the trash at Walmart. He might have been wasted, but my question to everyone else is, if you had one leg and no $ no insurance no house, wouldnt you get wasted too? So I bought him 2 tacos and a water. It only took a few minutes, and this man said to me it was the best day of his life! So tell me how $2.38 is a waste to make someone say this is the best day of my life? Thats what were supposed to do. No matter what choices they make, did you ever think theres a reason behind their bad choices? There is. Always a reason, and not for us to decide if those reasons are justifiable. Our job is to help each other. #PLURlife #WWJD
