I swear to ALL the gods that I watched this movie last night at the white star motel in Beaverton, MI, near the Wooden Shoe or...in the Wooden Shoe (Im never sure about that). Anyway, this is the second time Ive seen what I thought was an impossible movie...just impossible, late at night, after a Suzanne Witer sponsored family fiesta. (The first being the forever unknown but fabulous Sonny Boy with the late great David Carridean who wrote the score AND appeared in drag!) I was perplexed as I watched what I know now to be the 1984 film Nothing Lasts Forever with its strange sepiatone (or maybe it was fake black & white. I dunno.) I knew who I was seeing. It was Bill Murray. Noo question. (Thanks Tig Natarro) I just couldnt process what I was seeing. Did I mention it was late and I was very sleepy? I thought, Perhaps Ive fallen asleep and this is a weird Bill Murray dream. Hmm...nope. This shit is real. And here it is. My only regret is that I did not return to the Wieder ranch to peform selected (if not enhanced) scenes from this very strange film discovered for free at a motel that only boasted Color TV on a faded but still glowing yellow sign. Amanda Sterling in her kerchief and I in my cap, had just settled down for a long winters nap, when what to my wondering (wandering?) eyes did appear, but Bill Murray and bus that flew like reindeer. I sank in my bed and my eyes filled with delight when the radiator BANGED like a thief in the night
