I take it TONGAI TIONE is more of a concept than a mere slogan; a stance with a sound background strategy to rescue us from the current crisis. And I guess I am right. The question is whether our supporters, followers, sympathisers, and well-wishers understand or even know what it entails. The MDC has to do more to explain or sell this “position” to these people who have stood by us over the years – in thick and thin! Otherwise they will wonder: TONGAI TIONE? Does it mean we are going to sit by and watch as our country gets reduced to an African laughing stock yet once again? Are we going to fold our hands and witness the reversal of all gains we have happily seen over the past 4years? Are we going to be spectators as those diamonds which would have otherwise funded civil servants pay rise continue to be looted by this selfish cult? Should we remain in the terraces as the future of our children is being jeopardised? Should we continue playing observers as our natural resources are being siphoned to China through that Look East policy which has benefited just but a few big cats? A thousand more questions are lingering in the air. So Wananchi will have to watch as the new handlers of the finance ministry carelessly allow that inflation rate to go back to 500 billion percent – ndizvo here Leader Tendai Biti? So our children faces that prospect of going to school just to mix and mingle with other kids as teachers will be somewhere protesting against those worthless peanuts called salary; And textbooks will once again become a rare commodity in our government schools – is that so Cde David Coltart? TONGAI TIONE? Yes they will wonder, unless we explain: And I repeat – a sound background strategy behind the concept!
