I take the bus to work. I always get a seat on the way back because I start from Pettah. But from Malabe, in the morning I have to travel standing. The trick to get a seat fast is to stand near a seat of a school boy or a girl who gets down in Battaramulla. Since it is the vacation time, unfortunately this doesnt work now. So I stand close to the front door. Today I did the same, and I got a seat near Koswatta. When I tried to sit, there was this fat lady who came next to me from nowhere. I thought she was pregnant and offered her the seat. Usually pregnant ladies get onto buses on this route. Oh damn, she wasnt pregnant. She was just fat. But I didnt mind it, she was a lady and I can always stand and go with not much discomfort than her. The bus was fully crowded. This lady was sitting and half of her was bulging out of the seat. And the conductor walked pass me and I had to lean on to her. She shook her shoulder in disgust and gave me this look. I ignored. The second time this happened she screamt Malli, monawada oi karanne? Samawenna! AMMATAAAAA!
