I talked with a fellow alumni that I swam with. He felt terrible that he could not fly across the country at 3 days notice to say goodbye to Brian. I wanted to share a thought with you all. Thurs and Saturday will be services for Brian that will be heavily represented from Brian childhood and Fire Dept/Lifeguard family. Some of us that live in So. Cal from his CSUB days will be attending. I have an idea I want to share with Chris (the current CSUB coach), but wont be until I can reach him by phone (hopefully tomorrow). I would like to do a dedication service in Bakersfield for his CSUB family. I was thinking of having it coincide with the alumni weekend in Octoberish. This would give many of Brians former teammates a chance to plan and make the trip. It would also be more for that time in Brians life and with those who he spent it with (as well as any other alumni that wanted to come and pay tribute). So I guess what I am saying is if you cant swing the short notice trip to So. Cal (or can only make it out west once this year), consider planning a trip to Bako in the fall. I will have more info on my idea and after I speak to Chris real soon. R.I.P. our fallen brother.
