I tell my clients a little rule of thumb I call 80/20. This means, go all out in the gym + solid nutrition at least 80% of the week, while 20% of the time - live your life! Yesterday I participated in a pizza eating contest & actually proud to say I finished almost an entire 16 in 2 minutes, as well as being a runner up! Some guys still had 4-5 slices left!! I instructed 2 dif. classes before hand, burning almost 1,000 calories prior & just live an overall healthy life the majority of the time.. BUT, I do LOVE food AND challenges! Im pretty strict Monday through Friday while running my gym, training & participating in the workouts myself, while Ill always have at least a cheat day on the weekend with my son & hubby & preach to my clients to do this as well. Those who tend to diet or not enjoy themselves end up feeling deprived & wanting to give up... which can turn into binge eating. Theres no need to eat like a competitor if youre not competing in anything. Im 100% Italian, competitive & wanted to show just what 80/20 really means! Because I stay on track at least 80-90% of the time, I was able to do this & have an amazing metabolism to bounce right back. Below is also a picture of my stomach directly after the eating contest, as well as our fridge tonight for a full week ahead of meal prepped healthy, clean eating! :) Bon Appétit!
