I tend to indict people a lot but I always do so based in their actions. This is not to say I make snap emotional judgments, however I do judge. We all do and judgment or discernment is not a negative thing; contrary to all those times people exclaim: “You can’t judge me.” The fact that we have jury trials in this nation refute the very notion of people not being able to judge others or their actions; so grow up! It is in action that character is defined so judgment of actions is a valid self preservation tool to all humanity. If you’re too afraid to make judgments about the people you associate with, then you will forever be at the mercy of their desires. That is not a good thing. In this I am reminded of a man that betrayed a great soul for the mere jingle of thirty pieces of silver into his purse. The reality is we did not ‘judge’ Judas Iscariot as a traitor; his actions defined him as such. His desire to conceal his treachery is what sentenced him and confirmed him the serpent that he was. Is the desire for coin such an all consuming desire as to make hearts turn from the truth? Obviously and historically recorded, not just Biblically; yes and why ‘Greed’ is defined as a deadly sin. Now I know we all need money, so I’m not telling you to walk off into the wilderness as I have done but I would ask you; is want or need driving your desire? In that question you may have an epiphany about how and why you make the choices you do. In the end, it is your actions that ‘judge you’; just like Judas.
