I have been thinking about how we often turn our heads the other way when confronted with problems that dont directly concern us. To my way of thinking, we should all be our brothers keeper. I returned recently from India (to New Zealand) with a heavy heart. In the twenty years I have been travelling to the subcontinent I have seen an increase in superficial wealth, eg number of cars and cell phones, but there is still just as much poverty and hardship for the masses. If you are Indian, you should be reaching out to your brothers and sisters who are suffering from poverty, ignorance, ill health and the myriad other problems many Indians have, and doing the individual and social work that needs to be done to help them.
