I think Ekiti State needs more than a Special Assistant for Stomach Infrastructure to survive. The State definitely needs more of a Special Assistant for physical infrastructure development and revenue creation. The new governor said the states total monthly earning is N3.3 billion from the federation account etc, but that state has a N2.4b Civil Service Salary bill monthly. More effort should be directed at making the people earning N2.4 billion which is more than 72% of the states income to give value for money, since less than N1 billion is available for every other thing in the state, including the servicing of stomach infrastructure monthly. Simple arithmetic suggests that ex-Gov. Fayemi must have collected some N36b yearly for four years or N144b in four years. Spending N2.4b on monthly salaries for four years minus the two months he is now owing, suggests that ex-Gov. Fayemi spent about N110 billion on salaries alone, leaving a balance of N34b in four years. If the Fayemi administration took a loan of N54b, then he spent a total of N88 billion on every other thing in the state in four years, whereas he paid out N110 billion as salaries during his tenure. Without creating new sources of revenue, if Gov. Fayose can run Ekiti State as it is but still servicing stomach infrastructure, wiping off existing debts, paying salaries on the 27th as he said he would, while at the same time maintaining Security and the relative Peace he met in the state without borrowing any money like he is condemning the Fayemi administration for, he Fayose will surely be fit for the Nigerian presidency after his tenure. For sure then, 10 years would have lapsed after his impeachment. I am just not sure that Gov. Fayose can pull these off as he said he would, as doing that will be next to magic
