I think Googles investment strategy is very interesting. They appear to be going for a lot of low hanging technological fruit - stuff that it is clear that were on the cusp of developing whose applications are immediate and obvious. Stuff like driverless cars. I mean, thats going to have dramatic effects on the shipping business when its implemented - both in the sense that our roads will be much, much safer and in the sense that a couple million people are going to be out of jobs. I say this because, over and over, again, they do things that have been within our technological grasp for a while that people just havent bothered doing for some reason. They seem to be focusing in the same fields that I would focus if I had a billion dollars. I bet, next, itll be vending machines.
