I think I am ready to go for a run again. I havent run since - TopicsExpress

I think I am ready to go for a run again. I havent run since World Toughest Mudder, so it is going to hurt a bit..........and my hip is not going to like it....but the hip can talk to the hand! I am actually missing it, so I think it is time. I love running on my own on the trails but I also enjoy the hustle and bustle of a fun run. Lots of motivated runners with the same mission. To finish! Sitting on my comfortable pace I always check out who is around me. The footslapper (this is me!) pounds the ground like an elephant in a weight vest. The heavy breather sounds as though they are going to have a heart attack at any minute. The arm waver nearly knocks my head off as they pass me, swinging their arms, slicing through the air, like the game Fruit Ninja. The perennial sweater is glistening from head to toe.......and we have only gone 500m! A shake of their head usually produce an instant sodium shower for everyone within a 15 metre radius. The Warwick Capper has shorts way too small and their junk is almost on display. The Karaoke Queen has the ipod in and runs past you belting out a tune, oblivious to the other runners bleeding ears. The Stop starter (one of my favourites) comes flying past you at a rate where you think Geez, this person is a pro, probably won a National running title or something......... until you pass them 1km up the road and they are hunched over, lips quivering and you think their race is over. They went out too hard.... But no! 10 minutes later, they fly past you again.....and this scenario repeats itself for the duration of the race. The shuffler who does not lift their feet and you are waiting for them to trip and face plant a any time. The spitter. Stay out of this persons way, as every few minutes a deep throated gurgling sound is followed by a turn of their head and a wad of lung oyster flying through the air. These are just a few of the runners that make my run much more interesting. I am looking forward to running again!
