I think I got away with it... Huge thanks to everyone who came along last Friday to pack out my DJ gig at the Hebden Bridge Trades Club. It was an amazing night, with the whole place dancing from 9.30 until the curfew at 1.30. Particularly satisfying was that this was in response to records - largely from around Africa and the Caribbean - which few in the crowd could have heard before. (The Trinidadian and Barbadian soca, and Congolese soukouss, especially, went down a storm). Breathtaking lights were laid on by Terry Beddows and Richard Walker. Thanks to them, and to the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival for having me there. Thanks also to Wendy Beddows for these photos. My next DJ gig is at Number 39 in Darwen this coming Friday, 4th July.
