I think I might have figured out why my pf method is not working on these last horses. Most of these horses are on grass hay, no hay balancer (Protein Supplement).Proteins also play a vital role in nutrient transport. They carry sodium and potassium into and out of cells in order to maintain the proper electrolyte balance. Proteins also carry vitamins, such as vitamin A, from your organs to your cells. A specific protein in your red blood cells, hemoglobin, is responsible for carrying oxygen from your lungs to your cells. Hemoglobin also takes carbon dioxide from your cells to your lungs, so that it can be expelled from the body. Watch your horses top line. I feed three fourths Alfalfa, and my gelding has dropped off his in the last two weeks. Its crazy, but the cattlemen have been warning about this. I know if you are seeing wrinkles in the throat latch area, and neck, that is the first sign in my opinion. Hope this helps. I am continuing to research all this, but wanted to warn people.
