I think Im confused. Why is everyone applauding the Ravens for terminating the contract of Ray Rice now? Because there was a VIDEO of the incident? As if that video provides some clarification of what exactly happened in that elevator? He admitted to striking his wife so hard that he knocked her unconscious months ago, right? And they stuck by him and supported him and took the 2 game suspension handed down by the league without a word. But then TMZ releases the video ( which in my opinion is a scum sucking invasion of privacy but then thats who TMZ is) and all of a sudden when the court of public opinion start screaming because of this VISUAL evidence the Ravens term his contract they are seen as heroes. No folks- they are a business. And with the video that makes the attack more visceral for their customers, Ray Rice went from being an Asset to a Liability. He would have cost more in bad press then he would have gained them in Yards per carry. If the Ravens were the heroes that people are calling them they would have cut ties with Ray Rice months ago. It is reprehensible what Ray Rice did-- but there are no good guys in this story.
