I think McDonalds executives and all other corporate executives - TopicsExpress

I think McDonalds executives and all other corporate executives should have to accept the challenge of living on minimum wage for at least 3 months. It should be mandated by law if there is reliable evidence to prove that any North American corporation has been offsetting their labour costs onto the backs of hardworking citizens whose taxes are used to pay for healthcare and social services, such as food stamps. Shame on those corporate criminals. Greed for profit is not a valid excuse for any corporation who has a history of exploiting poor people by paying wages so low we cannot afford the costs related to meeting all our own human needs. I stand with those calling for an increase in minimum wages internationally, and I add to that the insistence that these wages are indexed to match inflation rates so they remain living wages as market values rise or fall. Corporations who are profitable should be legislated to raise their employees wages to match current market prices for food, shelter, utilities, clothing, transportation, all education costs, health and social needs. Governments who do not take action to implement policy to prevent corporations from exploiting poor people in this manner, are complicit with corporate labour costs being offset by the working class whose taxes the government uses to subsidize health and social services. Unacceptable.
