I think a gym membership is a waste of money. Exercising in the home with a few pieces of equipment (and your own body weight) is much faster/easier. Also, the real key to healthy living is learning how to control what you eat. You can blow out your entire workout in about 30 seconds by eating a few donuts. In addition, doing intense 45-1 hr workouts 3-5 times a week is s very unrealistic, especially as you get older. Shorter workouts coupled with fewer carbohydrates is easier to live with.
