I think all politicians need to do it tough like the rest of us. We all know some politicians have with good intent tried to do the I can live on the dole thing, however I think a group of them need to do it the way we do, select 1 single male politician and put him on the dole for a decent period of time, take away everything and send him out to find a house, without a bond and no means of borrowing for it, let him find out how tough it is on his own on the dole, select a single female with one child and do the same, then select a family with 2 children and do the same, then repeat with the same with a single male on single dsp and a single female with a child on dsp, all starting the same with the benefits and the job of getting a house, settling kids at all levels, putting food on the table and paying the bills, then select someone or a family to show the affects of what happens when they lose jobs, either 1 or both parents?? see what happens to the mortgage payments and how fast their life can fall to the bottom with access to their assets or cash they have in their real lives and see how tough the majority of the population on benefit or low income have it. The welfare organisations cannot cope now with trying to provide even food vouchers for these people. Someone needs to look at this and some politicians need to be made to live it for real in order to appreciate everyones situation before that can speak for us! Also speaking of education , try living the uni students life or the old age pensioners life, I am talking the ordinary old age pension on the base pension, and what happens when a partner dies or is a single pensioner, look at making education accessable for EVERYONE, not just the ones who can pay the uni fees, I know my daughter could never be a doctor or a lawyer or a vet or something high end I like the majority of low income parents will never have the $$ to pay for them to attend, taking away the education supplement will just make life harder for all parents
