I think being raised on / taught the majority rules mindset is terribly bad. It conveys the horrible idea that just because 1 more than half of the people want to do something to the other half it is somehow legitimate or moral. If you are in a room of 10 people and 6 of them want to steal your stuff, enslave or assault you, defraud you or commit any other [what would otherwise be] a crime against you is it all cool because the majority said it was? Of course not.
