I think certain 1st responders should respond to a credible question ebola call (flu-like symptoms, recent travel to affected nations, fever, bleeding) by having 2 responders go level B with SCBA and make pt contact and isolate the patient (time to design an isolation tent that goes with stretchers), and whoever drives the EA should go level B with a PAPR while the responding EA takes control measures for the back of the bus. CDC says all advanced care (airways, etc) should either be done while the EA is stopped or upon arrival at the hospital (so ALS wouldnt have to make direct contact). Then, when met at the hospital, have those responders turn over control of care in an iso environment. Then the responders should be deconned by a team that has drilled in it, doff gear with the third stage of decon, and then Id feel comfortable I didnt have a possible exposure. Youve read the CDC missive on Ebola contacts? Id just as soon wear a paper bag on my head and hope for the best than follow what the CDC says is ample PPE. https://youtube/watch?v=lPXWt2ESxVY
