I think if my pony could talk he would be saying See I told ya--ya - TopicsExpress

I think if my pony could talk he would be saying See I told ya--ya big ninny. I had an amazing ride this morning--very humbling in a way to be reminded that if you want to talk to a pony you have to speak very quietly and softly (like if you want a small child to listen you lower your voice!). In my exuberance to forge ahead I think I began speaking to loudly with my aides--which lead to some confusion and frustration on both our parts. This morning I think my guy finally made the connection between my aides and asking for the flying change--it was one of those epiphany moments that are so fleeting but you know the light has finally come on. There were no explosions or running through the aides he managed to stay up in his shoulders and incredibly mobile and light. We did manage a few steps in pirouette which was maybe more exciting. We didnt get any perfect changes (he still wants to put in a trot step (but not a half step and still manages to stay uphill while doing it?! ) but Im quite sure once I get the timing exactly right they will be there) I think now that we have achieved a certain quieter understanding I can drive him a little more forward. These photos are not from today--but last weekend when I was ah-hum speaking a little too loud. Im curious to know what your horse has taught you lately? I think sometimes they are our best teachers.
