I think is high time we started to seriously employ the services of Educational Psychologist in the various schools in this country. A second-year day student of the Agona Swedru School of Business (SWESBU), Miss Lvy Owusu was on Monday found hanging in an uncompleted building at Agona Swedru. The deceased is reported to have committed suicide over inability on the part of her parents to pay her school fees. inasmuch as we pray for the repose of her soul, we should also look at averting similar unfortunately avoidable situations in the future. Remember some few months back, a student of the University of Education thought he had nothing more to live for,and so took his own life because he had trailed in a number of subjects and was to be withdrawn from the school. Perhaps if this students had had access to an Educational Psychologist or even a Councillor, this untimely deaths could have been avoided. A + in the classroom doesnt mean A+ in life and a D in the classroom could be an A+ in life. May the souls of this students find favour with the Almighty God.
