I think it is the responsibility of every progressively-minded person in Victoria to tell Elizabeth May and the Green Party to stop wasting their energy trying to defeat an extremely green NDP MP, Murray Rankin, and turn their attention to defeating the Conservatives in one of the 161 ridings they currently hold. Replacing one NDP MP with one Green MP doesnt get us any closer to getting rid of Harper and the Conservatives. It does the opposite, by forcing the NDP to shift resources into defending an incumbent riding rather than challenging the conservatives in one of theirs. In fact, Green Party members and supporters should be doing everything in their power to elect the NDP to government in the next election. The NDP is the only of the 3 main political parties in Canada that has committed to implementing proportional representation into our electoral system if they are elected. A more proportional will guarantee the election of more Green MPs to Parliament. Am I missing something here?
