I think it is wise to remind ourselves (and others) about the reasons and excuses some breeders will give when selling kittens from non-screened cats. Reasons for not screening their cats: 1. There is no HCM in our lines 2. There is no silver in our lines 3. We use older lines, and no HCM has been found. FACT: The ONLY 1 fact in these 3 *excuses* that can be possible, is that there is no silver in their lines. There is HCM in EVERY line, and just because it has not yet been found (show me just 1 pedigree with no HCM relations!!!), is only because the cats havent been screened or the pedigree has not been researched properly! Please folks.... when buying breeding cats, DO NOT believe any breeder who tells you There is no HCM in our cats lines.... because it simply isnt true.
