I think its about time to consider a new writers group. This one, not so much critique as much as sharing stories, and sharing suggestions and ideas. If there is critique, it would have more to do with general genre and questions about direction of the story and where the author wants their characters or concepts to go. Since Im religious, I do think that we shouldnt limit our stories and shy away from the subject, regardless the genre. C.S. Lewis wrote both Sci-fi and fantasy, as wells as fictional essays or columns of advice (see Screwtape Letters), and, of course, Tolkien was the grandfather of modern fantasy. With those two authors in mind, Im thinking something like a Tri-Cities or Columbia Basin Inklings sort of group. If anyones in on starting something like this up, or knows of people already working on it in the area, let me know, or otherwise comment and pass this along. Thanks!
