I think its been about eight years since Christy Taylor Boor courageously faced breast cancer squarely in the eye. At that time she did everything possible that the Docs suggested. Lumpectomy, Chemo, and radiation. (Bald really is beautiful) Today, due to a Bracket II positive cancer gene diagnosis, she had bilateral mastectomy performed, ovaries removed and reconstructive surgery all in one fell swoop in about a five and a half hour surgical procedure. This is a preventative measure. It is with her permission I am posting this. Her fight against cancer has truly been her fight, her way, with the help of dedicated Docs and the healing hand from the man upstairs. We post this information not just for the many friends that have inquired as to what took place, but as important information to you ladies that are facing similar circumstances. Several years ago I surprised her by re-ordering her DMV plates for her van. What she did not know was that I ordered the breast cancer awareness plate with the inscription UCANWIN. At the time I dont think she totally comprehended just how powerful that message was, is and always will be. You have fought the good fight, you are hard headed, strong willed and determined. If only I had one ounce of your perseverance I could bend steel with bare hands and leap tall buildings at a single bound. You are nothing short of amazing !
