I think its finally time that we get some visual artists names out there. Im sick of it just being about books, music, and movies. Im an obsessive cataloger and compiler, so it irks me that theres no space on our profiles for favorite painters, illustrators, comic book pencilers and inkers, sculptors, engravers, calligraphers, floral arrangers, etc. Ah, for the glory days of Myspace when you had something of a control of the look and content of your own page! Anyway, lets share the names of those who reeked of varnish and whose hands were perpetually smeared with oils and inks. My favorite practitioners of the visual arts (in no particular order after the first named) are: 1. William Blake 2. Dong Qichang 3. Hendrik Goltzius 4. Jacopo Tintoretto 5. Ilya Repin 6. Hal Foster 7. Joseph Mallord William Turner 9. William Holman Hunt 10. Titian 11. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (I taught myself to draw by copying Lautrec) 12. Thomas Eakins 13. Isaac Levitan 14. Theodor Kittelsen 15. Chen Zhou 16. Ivan Bilibin 17. Otomo Katushiro 18. N. C. Wyeth 19. John Singer Sargent 20. Maxfield Parrish OH!, if you make your own list it would be it include an exemplary picture to go along with each name. Lets make it part of one of those beautify Facebook campaigns.
