I think its now safe to declare that the Great Halloween Pot Candy Scare of 2014 has blown over and was 100% unfounded. Kids have all eaten their candy now, and there hasnt been a single report from a parent, school administrator, police officer, or doctor of a child receiving marijuana edibles in their trick-or-treat bag. That doesnt just apply to Colorado, but the whole country! And heres something I learned while researching this: that doesnt just apply to this year but ALL years. I found that there has NEVER been a confirmed report of a malicious stoner giving out cannabis infused candies at Halloween. There have been reports of parents giving them to their children, both by accident and on purpose. But no bad guys. Keep that in the back of your mind for Halloween next year. Maybe we can spend less of our worry budget thinking about kids getting pot by accident, and more about kids getting run over by drunk drivers. THAT really happened, and lots.
