I think maybe I was just born 150 years too late. I just dont really understand this world anymore lol! I have a love/hate relationship with all these machines and technology that run our world now days. When they are working as theyre designed to I SOMETIMES find them convenient and helpful, but when they glitch (as they ALWAYS and often do) I become immediately and horribly frustrated and defeated and seem to get really pissed off way too quickly. I wonder..... How did we sell our humanity out for this CRAP????? I dont really understand the humor on the television anymore....the fixation with George Clooneys wedding....the jokes on Saturday Night Live...I dont even know the celebrities on the talk shows anymore...or why they are significant and important. I dont understand the desperate hurry on the freeways and roadways...the subtle undercurrent of stress that seems to drive our society. I dont understand the cost of things and all the consumer garbage that this world and the media tells me Im supposed to have. I look around at it and wonder...have we gone insane on this meaningless, worthless, over priced, consumer crap???? I dont understand whatever happened to dignity and pride in ones self, and love, and hope, and honesty.....and purpose....and a hard days honest work...and quality for a buck? I pulled into a gas station the other day because it was cheaper than anywhere else (Cheap for California prices). I discovered I couldnt simply slide a card into the pump though to take advantage of this cheap gas. Instead I had to pay at a kiosk which charged me a fee for paying there which offset the discount on the gas. Ivette and I stopped at the bank a few days ago because I wanted to make a cash deposit into my checking/debit account. She suggested that I just make the deposit in the machine out front beside the door...but I dont feel comfortable putting money into these things....only taking money out of them (and even then I still only BARELY trust them! Instead I had to do it the OLD FASHIONED way....inside...wait in line....talk to a human. I dont like drive- throughs either. When I can I avoid them. For me, there seems to be something fundamentally WRONG with a culture that has become so damned LAZY and generally detached and disinterested in what theyre doing that they cant even take the time to park their car and WALK a few feet to procure their food or services!
