I think my gender is getting an undeserved pass on the domestic violence issue. I believe VERY FEW cases of DV fit the conventional wisdom description of powerless, weak, battered woman, and that the majority of these situations had TWO key players. We greatly need to have the DV conversation, but we need that conversation to be inclusive of all the women who didnt deserve it but started it and perpetuated it nonetheless. I am not going to stand back and allow this judgment against my children simply because they were born with penises because I actually have some experience here and I know better. I might be the only woman with the courage to say it, but Im in no way the only woman who knows this particular truth!
